recycling
every plot hands over clean, sorted materials; the recycling hub at the mobility hub turns them into resources. this page is the instruction for residents and for the hub.
on the plot — four streams, clean and dry
| stream | what | how |
|---|---|---|
| glass | bottles, jars | rinsed, lids off, by colour where the hub asks |
| metal | cans, foil, tins, small scrap | rinsed, flattened |
| paper | paper, card, cartons | dry, flat, tape removed |
| plastic | bottles, containers, film | rinsed, dry, by type code 1–7 |
organic waste stays on the plot as compost. hazardous waste — batteries, lamps, electronics, paint, oil — goes to the hub's locked bay as a fifth stream.
delivery
residents carry sorted streams to the hub by e-cart or on foot on collection days the register publishes. construction waste leaves the estate by the haul route at the holder's cost.
at the hub
- receive — accept clean, sorted loads; a mixed load goes back to the sender for sorting
- weigh — log weight per stream and per plot in the ledger
- store — dry, covered bays per stream
- process — glass crushed for aggregate; paper and card shredded for compost and mulch; metal baled; plastic baled by type
- dispatch — bales sold to licensed recyclers; revenue to the estate's operating account
- publish — monthly totals per stream in the register
burning
open burning of any waste is prohibited under air policy.
