The Name

Hemera (Ημερα) — primordial Greek goddess of Day. Daughter of Erebus (Darkness) and Nyx (Night). One of the Protogenoi, the first-born entities emerging directly from Chaos.

From arbitrary bytes (darkness), Hemera brings forth a clear, unique, permanent identity (daylight). The hash function does not represent identity — it IS identity. Hemera does not rule the day — she IS the day.

Poseidon (2019) — the Olympian god of the sea
Poseidon2 (2023) — the optimized successor
Hemera (2026) — the Protogenoi: older, deeper, permanent

The Olympians govern. The Protogenoi constitute. Poseidon rules the sea; Hemera is the daylight itself. The distinction maps precisely: Poseidon is a hash function used within proof systems. Hemera is the identity function of an entire knowledge graph — the layer upon which names exist.

Hemera stands before Poseidon in the mythological hierarchy, as cyber/core's identity layer stands beneath all execution. She is the foundation upon which names exist.
