biosphere and desa reserves

two reserves the estate fills before it spends. the strategy sets them as tithes off the top: a share of every recurring dollar to the biosphere and to the desa. the share starts at 10% each and the annual general meeting reviews it every year, setting it for the year ahead as income grows. the annual general meeting of the Company is the meeting of the city council: every leaseholder votes there, and Company shares add weight to the vote. hak sewa template 9.5 sends every holding charge here as well — a plot left idle costs the land and the village, so its charge returns to them.

biosphere reserve — what it pays for

in this order, each line funded before the next:

  1. watershed and springs — spring buffers, erosion control, stream turbidity monitoring under water policy
  2. soil — biochar and compost for the commons, soil tests of the commons under soil policy
  3. forest — native planting, canopy restoration, seed bank and nursery
  4. wildlife — corridors, nesting, dark-sky upkeep under light policy
  5. measurement — sensors and the published ledger of results

desa reserve — what it pays for

in this order:

  1. ceremony — the estate's share of banjar and desa adat ceremonies and temple upkeep
  2. village roads and water — the jalan desa and shared water works the estate uses
  3. people — scholarships and training for Gesing youth, preference to work on the estate
  4. projects — proposals from the banjar, chosen with the village head

how it is kept

  • two bank accounts in the Company's name, one per reserve, used for nothing else
  • every inflow and payment published monthly in the register: date, source, amount, purpose
  • the Director proposes each payment; a Commissioner authorises it; for the desa reserve, the village head co-signs the list of projects each year
  • a balance left at year end stays in the reserve for the next year
