the bootloader rests
on august 5, at height 25,120,712, bostrom produced its last block. today the decision is final: the chain is laid to rest, and with it its playful sibling space pussy. this is a chapter closing in the story of cyber — and the next one opening
the decision
the letter that went to the heroes, neurons and citizens:
I have decided not to restore the Bostrom network.
- in its current state it has zero utility: a 3-week notice by community before halt has already been given;
- the security of the codebase is questionable due to recent events in cosmos;
- the soft3 codebase is far superior.
It looks as if the universe is pushing us toward the new codebase. So be it. I took a snapshot at halt and have prepared the balances. I made the same decision for the SpacePussy network.
no drama, no exploit, no rug. the bootloader did what bootloaders do: it booted something, and then it stopped being needed
what five years taught
bostrom launched on november 5, 2021 as the boldest experiment in cybernomics: put knowledge-graph consensus on a live cosmos chain and see what a collective mind learns. almost five years later the ledger reads:
- 2,949,732 cyberlinks by 1,240 linking neurons
- 3,143,650 particles of addressed knowledge
- 47,837 moon-passport names across 46,039 owners
- 61,675 accounts; 482,287,925,778,234 $BOOT at halt
calibration data for the collective focus theorem — the physics that soft3 now carries forward
the snapshot is the chain now
every dataset was extracted at halt height, cross-checked and content-addressed on IPFS: balances sum to bank supply to the micro-unit across all 79 denoms; the cyberlink graph was rebuilt from raw block events — a full scan of 25.1M blocks — and matches the on-chain counters exactly, link for link, particle for particle. the indexer era is over; events do not lie
the warp prices at halt are frozen into the record too: every onchain token swaps to $BOOT at those prices — the swap mints 102,912,144,666,169 on top of native supply (+21.3%). $TOCYB stands apart: at $CYB genesis every tocyb becomes 666 CYB — 187,416,084,623,451,570 CYB, one percent of the field — the $TOCYB promise resolved
the moment of truth
a graph is links between particles; a link outlives its meaning only if the particle itself survives. so we audited the cybernode blockstore directly, file by file, all 3,143,648 particles:
3,069,134 present — 97.63%
five years of collective knowledge, a dead chain, and the content is still there, servable, block by block. the missing 74,513 are published as a list — nothing swept under the rug. this is what content addressing was always for: the chain died, the knowledge did not
why altruism worked
the strange part: there was never an economic incentive to store any of this. the protocol charged for linking — bandwidth priced in H — and paid nothing for hosting. by token-engineering logic the content should be gone. it is 97.63% here. three reasons:
- content addressing makes altruism cheap. a particle is its hash; keeping it is a disk, not a service contract. four terabytes of collective knowledge costs less than a dinner per month to hold — the cybernode simply pinned what the graph referenced, for years, because the operator cared about the graph more than about the margin
- the address never rots. an altruist who stores a particle today makes it recoverable by anyone forever — effort compounds instead of evaporating, which is exactly backwards from URL hosting where neglect deletes history
- the missing 2.37% tells the honest limit: particles that were linked but never uploaded to the node that cared — hashes whose bytes lived only on a laptop that left. altruism preserves what it can see
incentive design still matters — but the bootloader measured the baseline: one motivated archivist plus content addressing retains ~98% of a dead network's knowledge. that is the floor the new economics builds on
the availability plan
- recovery sweep: hunt the 74,513 missing particles through public gateways, DHT providers and old mirrors — every recovered byte re-pins
- three replicas for what exists: the cybernode blockstore, a second copy on the archive node, and Pinata — no single disk holds the record alone
- in soft3 availability stops being charity: a neuron that links a particle serves it, and rewards flow only to proven, servable knowledge — no serve, no earn. altruism set the floor; the focus economy raises it
check yourself
balance checkers run in your browser — keys never leave the page. search by moon-passport name, address, mnemonic, private key or ledger:
- bostrom.network
- pussy.bostrom.network — until spacepussy.ai moves over
the state holds for one more week: check your balance, and if anything is off — say so, it will be fixed
what carries into genesis
- cyberlinks from both chains port into the soft3 genesis
- moon-passport names port with them
- tokens on osmosis stay tradable; a dedicated osmosis snapshot happens before launch
- $TOCYB → $CYB at 666, the hero number of every checker
why care
the new stack is built to solve the problems that actually matter: surveillance by governments and ai companies, surviving the ai takeoff, protecting every living thing. mint by learning. local-first inference. real-time ai memory. private-by-design interactions. serverless — seriously, finally. start here: soft3
