# Archived Cargo manifest packaging

The seven archived harness `Cargo.toml` files are renamed losslessly to
`Cargo.toml.txt`. Three historical replay entries now stage their original layout
outside the repository and execute the exact preserved scripts. Production Rust,
normal manifests, locks, versions and specifications are unchanged.

Fresh same-session Rust 1.95 controls used one local Git URL and independent
consumer/cache/target directories. Parent `ce0fb312โ€ฆ` reproduced the duplicate
package warning in lock generation, metadata and both reader profiles. Temporary
committed candidate `e22c5b47โ€ฆ` emitted zero warnings in those four commands.
Eight literal reader cases produce byte-identical debug/release output in both
arms and the historical control. All 63 selected crate files and three-node
metadata agree after 34 explicit identifier/path substitutions per arm. The
external historical manifest causing the warning stayed identical before,
between and after the runs. See `pair/` for exact revisions, argv and raw streams.
This is a local packaging witness, not an origin or release input.

The original research, proof and CODE-input replays pass. Staging reproduces
exactly 13/90/620 original capsule files and both historical `prepare-crate`
exports. Missing/collision controls fail before execution and leave the actual
audit tree unchanged. Default CLI resolution is preserved. Historical `--live`
checks correctly fail because ce0 differs from their original b933 parent;
these failures are retained, not waived. A child status-77 witness verifies
stream forwarding without inserted newlines, status propagation and retained
failure staging. Successful staging is removed.

`inputs/historical-index-bindings.json` maps 19 historical index entries to their
preserved archives. Historical indices and raw receipts are unchanged; their
physical paths deliberately differ until staging. One pre-CODE verifier variant
already had a distinct retained body before this repair. No nested historical
audit archive is duplicated here.

Replay (requires the original Radio Git objects, including ce0; Nu and Git):

```sh
nu audit/2026-10-13-audit-cargo-packaging/verify.nu --repo /path/to/radio
The verifier checks retained hashes, exact historical Git inputs, the incremental local candidate bundle, full tree allowlist, archived index bindings, raw record streams, metadata substitutions and reader/source equality. It does not rebuild or re-run Cargo. --live additionally compares the reviewed packaging files and final explicit path set with the supplied repository. Original executable replay commands remain at their historical paths. The external absolute parent harness path remains a historical reference; its bytes are retained, but its existence is not a requirement for this replay.
PLAN v2 was independently approved; CODE review is pending. The initial missing retained-path notice, bare-index setup failure and deliberately interrupted first pair setup are preserved as earlier execution epochs. The completed pair and final wrapper controls are separate. Previous broad Radio gates, rung and last-tag results remain unrefreshed; the warning-free claim is limited to the four final candidate consumer commands. No API or semver change, release, tag, registry publication or Kadek dependency update occurs in this unit.
